Global Competitive Skills

The world and employment prospects that students will experience after graduating from a District 211 school will be challenging and will require students to possess global competitive skills.  Far beyond rote knowledge of an established body of content, this category of the instructional vision requires that the instructional program includes the expectation of the following items among students:

  • Demonstrating skills at an advanced level and the ability to achieve within a rigorous curriculum or performance setting
  • Applying knowledge and utilizing technology skills to simulate employment settings
  • Providing career pathways aligned to college and job market trends
  • Developing skills of creative problem solving, critical thinking, communication and collaboration
